North Texas Swimming & Diving Fan Guide
The Mean Green swimming and diving team embark on their 2012-13 season beginning on September 21 with the Green & White Meet, held at the Pohl Recreation Center and PEB Natatorium.
This season's schedule is heavily tilted towards regional opponents and events. Of the 13 events on the schedule, nine are in Texas and three more are in Louisiana or Arkansas.
Texas-Flavored Home Schedule
North Texas opens with two home meets, the Green & White Meet on September 21 and the Alumnae Meet on September 22. The team has its first home dual meet on November 2 against Rice, followed by a meet with SMU and Houston on January 16 and a dual meet with Texas A&M on February 1.
Sun Belt Championships
In their final season in the Sun Belt before departing for Conference USA, the Mean Green will again host the Sun Belt Conference Championships February 27-March 3.
The event will be held at the outstanding swimming and diving facilities in Rockwall, as it was last year.
Free Admission
Admission to home swimming and diving events is free, and the meets are open to the public.
New Scoreboard
A new scoreboard and state-of-the-art timing system is being installed at the Mean Green's swimming venue in the Pohl Recreation Center in August, in time to be used in the season-opening meets. The timing system is by Daktronics, which provides scoreboards and timing for a number of North Texas athletic venues.
