North Texas Swimming & Diving Fan Guide
The Mean Green swimming and diving team makes its entry into Conference USA under the guidance of a new head swimming coach, Brendon Bray, who was most recently associate head coach at San Diego State.
The schedule opens in September with three home exhbitiions, a dual meet against TCU on September 20 and the annual Green & White Meet and Alumni Meet at the Pohl Recreation Center and PEB Natatorium.
As it was a year ago, the season's schedule is heavily tilted towards regional opponents. Of the 11 regular-season events on the schedule, ten are in Texas, the lone exception being a meet in San Diego against San Diego State, Colorado State, and Tulane.
Following the Green & White Meet and the Alumni Meet, North Texas hosts three dual meets: against Arkansas on Oct. 5, Tulane on January 18, and TCU on February 5 in the final tune-up before the Conference USA Championships.
The Mean Green will also stay close to home with a pair of events in Southlake, the North Texas Relays on Oct. 4 and the Tiger Southwest Shootout on November 15.
North Texas will also face Texas foes Houston and Rice in dual meets in Houston on Nov. 1, and 2, respectively, SMU in a dual meet in Dallas Jan. 31, and Texas A&M in College Station on Feb. 1.
After hosting the Sun Belt Championships the past two years, North Texas will travel to Atlanta, GA, for its first Conference USA Championships, beginning Feb. 26.
Admission to home swimming and diving events is free, and the meets are open to the public.

Meet Coach Bray
Brendon Bray, the sixth head coach in North Texas swimming/diving history, will begin his first season this year after being hired in May of 2013.
Bray comes to North Texas from San Diego State, where he served as the associate head coach for the Aztecs while they achieved a peak dual meet ranking of No. 23 in the country by the College Swim Coaches Association of America. Since his promotion to associate head coach, SDSU compiled a 26-1 dual meet record and became an annual participant at the NCAA Championships. As a sprint/stroke coaching specialist, Bray helped coach all 13 individual NCAA championship participants including five honorable all-american performances, which represented both the first individual and relay points scored by SDSU at the national championships.
