Men's Basketball Takes On C-USA Powers

North Texas guard Jordan Williams

The Mean Green make their debut in Conference USA this season, and this year's schedule features 16 home games headlined by a pair of three-game homestands, December 15-21 and January 4-11, when North Texas begins league play against Southern Mississippi on January 9. A year ago, the Golden Eagles finished 25-9.

North Texas, coming off a big win at Texas A&M in non-conference play, will host UTEP (18-14 in 2012-13) and East Carolina (18-12 last year) in a rugged home league slate.

Women's Hoops Face Tough Schedule

The North Texas women open league play on January 8 on the road against preseason favorite Middle Tennessee, and open the home portion of their C-USA schedule on January 15 against Marshall.

Season tickets are $75 for 16 games, and are on sale through the North Texas Athletics Ticket Office. Click here for the complete 2013-14 schedule and ticket information.

NT Softball Schedule Loaded With Texas Foes

With a new coach at the helm, the Mean Green softball team faces a 2014 schedule heavy on home games, abundant with in-state opponents, and marked with some of the best softball programs in the nation.

The Mean Green have a new coach in the dugout in Tracy Kee, who earned four Coach of the Year honors during her stint at East Carolina.

North Texas is staying close to home for much of its schedule, playing 19 of its 47 games against teams from Texas, including Texas State, Abilene Christian, Prairie View A&M, Stephen F. Austin, Houston, Texas Tech, Baylor, UTA, C-USA foes UTSA and UTEP, and the state's long-time powerhouse, Texas.

The home slate opens with 11-straight home games spread out over three round-robin tournaments at Lovelace Stadium: the Lovelace Invitational, the Texas Shootout, and the Best Western/Courtyard Classic.

On March 11, the Mean Green hosts the Texas Longhorns in a doubleheader at Lovelace, followed the next day by a visit from Oklahoma State for a single game. North Texas will also play at Oklahoma State and defending national-champ Oklahoma, as well as Texas Tech, Houston, and Baylor.

Conference USA play begins on March 8 at Middle Tennessee, and North Texas plays its first home C-USA game on March 15 against UTSA.

Tennis Team Seeks Third-Straight Title

The back-to-back conference-champion Mean Green enter 2013-14 in pursuit of a third-straight league crown and a first Conference USA title.

North Texas opens the fall portion of its schedule with tournaments in Las Vegas; Pacific Palisades, California; Fort Worth; Denton; and Tulsa. The Mean Green open their home dual-match schedule against Miami of Ohio on February 15.

Among the visitors to the Waranch Tennis Complex this season are C-USA foes UTEP, Louisiana Tech and UTSA. North Texas will play nine-consecutive home dual matches from March 7, 2014, to April 12.

North Texas will seek a third-straight league championship and its first in C-USA at the conference championships April 16-20 in Norfolk, Virginia.

Swimming & Diving Team Takes Aim At C-USA

The Mean Green swimming and diving team makes its entry into Conference USA under the guidance of a new head swimming coach, Brendon Bray, who was most recently associate head coach at San Diego State.

The schedule opens in September with three home exhbitiions, a dual meet against TCU on September 20 and the annual Green & White Meet and Alumni Meet at the Pohl Recreation Center and PEB Natatorium.

As it was a year ago, the season's schedule is heavily tilted towards regional opponents. Of the 11 regular-season events on the schedule, ten are in Texas, the lone exception being a meet in San Diego against San Diego State, Colorado State, and Tulane.

North Texas hosts dual meets against Tulane on January 18 and TCU on February 5 in the final tune-up before the Conference USA Championships. The Mean Green will also take on SMU in a dual meet in Dallas Jan. 31, and Texas A&M in College Station on Feb. 1.
