2013 Schedule Features Six Home Games

The Mean Green has six home games this year, including three home games against schools from Texas - the first time that has happened since 1994.

Head Coach Dan McCarney

North Texas will also open the season with a home game for the first time since 2001, on Aug. 31 at Apogee Stadium against Idaho, the first meeting with the Vandals since the two teams met as Sun Belt Conference opponents in 2004.

The home schedule also features dates with Ball State (Sept. 14), Middle Tennessee (Oct. 12), Rice (Oct. 31), UTEP (Nov. 9) and UTSA (Nov. 23).

The 2013 road schedule is loaded with bowl-qualifiers from a year ago, leading off with Ohio on Sept. 7. The Mean Green also travel to Georgia (Sept. 21), Tulane (Oct. 5), Louisiana Tech (Oct. 19), Southern Miss (Oct. 26) and defending C-USA champion Tulsa to finish the regular season on Nov. 30.

North Texas All-Century Football Team

This season, North Texas football celebrates its 100th anniversary. As part of the centennial festivites, Mean Green fans were asked to select the North Texas All-Century Football Team.

To fill the 28 roster spots, more than 120 players and coaches were named as finalists – a list that was compiled with the help of Mean Green letterwinners and Hall of Fame members. Fans then voted on the team, submitting more than 11,000 votes. A final selection committee, made up of long-time Mean Green football observers, media, and members of the athletic department, then met to determine the final roster.

The North Texas All-Century Football Team was unveiled at the Green-White spring football game on April 13. Click here to view the video announcing the team. Click here to view the North Texas All-Century Football Team roster. And, coming this summer, will be a very special North Texas All-Century Football Team Commemorative Book, which will be for sale online and at North Texas home games.

All-Century Team Commemorative Poster And Book

To commemorate the All-Century Football Team, North Texas has prepared a poster and a very special 50-page book.

Everyone who purchases season tickets will receive the poster depicting the North Texas All-Century Football Team. The poster is 36 x 12 inches and has a photo and the name of all the members of the All-Century Team, which was announced at the Green-White spring football game on April 13. The poster is also available for purchase at the North Texas Team Store located at Apogee Stadium, next to Gate 2.

The commemorative book, which contains photos from throughout the program's history and a bio of every member of the All-Century Team, will be available in August. The book will be sold at the North Texas Team Store and will also be available for order online.

Mean Green Club members use the green, blue or red parking lots (lot assignments are based on the Mean Green Priority Point System). Driving directions are provided on the back of each pass.

Cash parking is available at the Fouts Field parking lot off of North Texas Boulevard. These spots cost $10. To access this lot, exit 35E at McCormick Street (the North Texas Boulevard exits on 35E will be closed), take the access road to North Texas Boulevard, then turn north onto North Texas Boulevard.

Handicap parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis throughout campus. Handicapped pickup service is available at Fouts Field for those needing ADA assistance and one additional accompanying person. Starting two and a half hours prior to kickoff, the service will drop fans at Apogee Stadium's Gate 2 and in the northeast Victory Hall parking lot. During the game, the service will drop off and pick up at Apogee Stadium's Gate 2 and Fouts Field.

Mean Green Football Official Website

The North Texas Athletic Department has launched a new website dedicated to the Mean Green football program, www.ntmeangreenfootball.com. While the site features a pair of videos (on the site’s home page and the Game Day page) produced for the athletic department, its focus is on four main topics: the coaches, the facilities, the championships, and the program’s NFL connections, and each of those has its own page.

Mean Green Club

The Mean Green Club raises funds for North Texas athletic scholarships. As tuition costs continue to rise, the need for increasing membership rises as well. Donations to the Mean Green Club help support nearly 350 North Texas student-athletes each year, and provide them with the best collegiate experience possible. As we continue to progress as a department, growth in the Mean Green Club is vital.
